Jan Pancar: The Privateer Taking on MXGP with Crossbox

Crossbox is proud to welcome another exciting addition to its athlete lineup: Slovenian MXGP rider Jan Pancar is now officially part of the Crossbox family.

Racing with the #253 for his own TEM JP253 KTM Racing Team, Pancar has established himself as one of the most impressive privateers in the MXGP paddock. While many of his competitors race with the support of large factory teams, Jan competes at the highest level of motocross with a remarkably small family-run setup.

Together with his father Igor, who works as his mechanic and manages the team, Jan takes care of many of the tasks that would normally be handled by a much larger crew. Bike preparation, race logistics and travelling to Grand Prix events are all part of life as a true MXGP privateer. His mother and girlfriend also support the team during race weekends.

Despite competing against the biggest factory teams in the world, Pancar has consistently proven that he belongs among the MXGP elite.

After finishing 11th in the MX2 World Championship in both 2022 and 2023, Jan moved into the premier MXGP class for the 2024 season. He immediately finished an impressive 13th overall in his rookie MXGP campaign before improving to 11th in the 2025 MXGP World Championship.

His performances have regularly put him in direct competition with factory-supported riders, while his speed has seen him fight near the front at several Grand Prix events. At the 2025 Motocross of Nations, Pancar also delivered a standout performance for Slovenia, finishing third in the MX2/Open race on the way to fifth overall for Team Slovenia.

Every advantage matters

For a privateer competing against factory teams, making the most out of every training session is especially important.

This is where Crossbox becomes another tool in Jan's pursuit of performance. Instead of relying only on lap times and feeling, Crossbox allows him to analyze exactly what happens out on track — comparing laps, lines and individual sections to identify where time is gained or lost.

With features such as Delta Comparison, section analysis and detailed GPS-based riding data, even small differences between two lines can be made visible.

For Jan, that fits perfectly with the privateer mentality: work efficiently, understand every detail and get the maximum possible performance from every lap.

Train with the same data-driven approach as Jan Pancar.

With Crossbox, you can analyze your laps, compare different lines, identify where you gain or lose time and turn every riding session into an opportunity to improve.

Together with Jan Pancar, Crossbox will provide an even closer look at how data can be used in real-world MXGP training. Upcoming content will focus on lap and line comparisons, Delta Analysis, training sessions and behind-the-scenes insights into the unique life of an MXGP privateer.

We are excited to have Jan Pancar #253 on board and look forward to following his journey at the highest level of motocross.
